Sports Tours in The Lake District

The northwest of England plays host the country's most spectacular playground - the Lake District. Stretching across nearly 1000 square miles of beautiful rolling Lakeland countryside, the Cumbrian national park is a fantastic touring destination for groups of all sizes, ages, abilities and disciplines - 10 million visitors every year cannot be wrong.

The Lake District is a fantastic tour destination for a lot of different teams. For youth teams looking to get to one with nature, for senior teams looking for a bit of pre-season training or teambuilding.

If anything, a Tour with us to the Lake District will be action packed. From your great-value hostel base in Ambleside, you will combine some stern Cumbrian fixtures with the very best in outdoor adventure.

From Gorge Walking to Kayaking and from Fell Running to Lake Swimming, the area offers as much for team-building as it does for team-preparation. Extremely affordable, and easy to get to from across England and Scotland, the Lake District will always be a favourite of ours.

What can we do in the Lake District?

Our excellent relationship with a range of activity centres in the Lake District ensure that you will experience the very best in getting the most out of this fantastic region. One of our teams travelling to the Lakes in 2011 will undertake a day of Raftbuilding, Kayaking, Archery and Cliff Climbing. Another, as part of a pre-season package will undertake a 13km Biathlon starting with a 5km run through the forest followed by an 8km circular canoe race. One of the best days out available in the Lake District is a trip to the Go Ape centre at Grizedale forest.

Where will we Stay?

Junior and PreSeason groups will be based at Ambleside at an excellent purpose built facility that is ideal for groups staying for an activity-orientated weekend. The size of the hostel allows for large groups to easily fit in and explore the nearby town and stunning views of Lake Windermere. The charming town is filled with slate-clad Victorian Villas and along with Keswick is the districts most bustling Lakeland town. Ambleside is a bustling town on the banks of Windermere. The town is filled with outward bound shops, traditional countryside pubs and restaurants and excellent access to the rest of the lakes.

Senior groups, or those looking to enjoy the nightlife, will be based at a modest Hostel in Keswick. We cannot promise the Ritz here, but it has been and will be a perfect base for sports tours and stag groups. Secure, comfortable bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a good cooked breakfast are the order of the day here.

The Lake District is perfect for:
