Sports Tours in Perpignan

The newest and most exciting addition to our French Rugby Tours is Perpignan. Seperated from Spain only by the Pyrenees, the city is a colourful blend of inter-twining streets, large squares, numerous cafe's and some bars championing the local passion - Rugby.

The local team of course is USAP Perpignan, a real heavyweight at home in France, as well as in European Competition. The Catalan club are at the top of a huge tree of Rugby in the area that has roots in many clubs across this stunning corner of France. It will be a truly magnificent experience to play a fixture in the region.

The Stade Aime Giral is the home of the USAP team, a noisy and pulsating place to see a game - a key part of any tour down here.

You will stay in the nearby beach resort of Canet en Roussillon, a bustling hive of activity 10km from the city. Here, you will be able to make the most of the huge beach, warm sea and typical resort attractions.

During the tour, we highly recommend a day in the Pyrennees. The day can start off with a visit to the USAP Stadium and Shop, before time is spent in Perpignan for an explore and a spot of lunch. The coach will then take you high into the mountains near the Spanish Border for an afternoon of Gorge Walking, Kayaking or White Water Rafting. A cracking way to spend a day on tour!

This seaside resort of Canet en Roussillon, or Canet Plage as it is commonly known is one of the jewels of the Catalan coast. The town is gilled with quirky and stylish buildings are kept from the beach by an immense sea front boulevard and busy yacht-filled harbour. Being located less than an hour from Spain makes this a real mix of the best bits of France and Spain.

You will stay at a tremendous 3* Hotel located between the busy Port and enormous beach. Comfortable and Practical, the Hotel is ideal for youth groups.

Canet Plage is the seaside resort of choice for the people of Perpignan, and it is not surprising as it is an action-packed playground. In the town, you will find Olympic sized swimming pools, tennis courts, a riding centre and cycle tracks - the quality of the sporting infrastructure is thanks to the numerous major sporting events that are held here each year.

Two must see attractions are the Aqarium and the nearby Aqualand Waterpark. The Aqaurium is home to 300 under-water species from across the world, and the waterpark, located a short drive south, is one of the best France has to offer.

When night falls, Canet Plage comes alive. The busy shopping streets around Place de la Mediterranee become filled with street vendors, the boulevard is filled with spilled out café's playing music, and the Europa Hill is the venue of choice for night owls in the town.
