Sports Tours in Belfast

Belfast is one of our newer destinations. Often overlooked by tourists of all walks of life, the city is one of Britain and Irelands most bustling, friendly and exciting cities.

Ideal as part of a full tour to Ireland as a contrast to Galway, Cork or Dublin, or equally ideal as a standalone destination for both youth and adult teams, Belfast is often dismissed for reasons long-since forgotten.

FACT: Northern Ireland is second only to Japan as the safest country in the world to visit as a tourist.

Widely considered as a worthy rival to Dublin, Belfast is the Glasgow to Scotland's Edinburgh. A town that has its origins in industry, Belfast is far more welcoming than and nowhere near as snooty or expensive as the capital city of Southern Ireland.

A superbly social and student filled town, Belfast is an excellent night out, while the hilly countryside nearby makes it a viable option for an action-packed itinerary also.

What is Northern Ireland actually like?

With its green hills, rivers and lakes, mountains and spectacular coastline, Northern Ireland is the perfect setting for most outdoor activities, while in the towns and villages visitors will undoubtedly be invited to join in the 'craic' or good fun, centred on a traditional Irish music session and a pint or two of the black stuff.

The fortunes of Belfast have risen and fallen over time, from its beginnings as a Bronze Age settlement and the building of the Titanic, to extensive World War II bombings and civil conflict. Today the capital of Northern Ireland is a thriving city that has regained some of its old charm and industry, and has begun to lure the curious traveller.

Northern Ireland is second only to Japan as the safest country in the world to visit as a tourist.

Belfast is often overlooked as a tourist destination, but the fascinating recent history, many attractions and above all, the warmth and acerbic wit of its inhabitants make it an essential stop on any trip to Ireland.

A Bit of History

Much of the city's architectural heritage was destroyed during repeated bombings in World War II, as well as during the Troubles which saw civil conflict between Roman Catholic nationalists and Protestant unionists that raged from 1969 until the late 1990s.

Several exquisite Victorian and Edwardian buildings remain, however, they have been filled with trendy bars, boutiques, galleries, museums and restaurants in an attempt to regenerate the city's image. Evidence of the Troubles can still be seen in the many murals that line Falls Road and Shankill Road, and the Europa Hotel has become famous as one of the most bombed buildings in Europe, having being targeted no less than 27 times.

It is a fascinating place to visit, and with our expertise and knowledge of sporting hosts and accommodation venues, you will be sure of a cracking tour to a surprisingly un-exploited touring destination this season.

Adult Rugby Tours to Belfast

Belfast combines a great Rugby Tradition with a large Student Population and a tremendous number of great bars and clubs. If you have 'done' Dublin, Edinburgh and Cardiff, or you're looking for something different, we would strongly urge you to consider this tremendous city.

Youth Rugby Tours to Belfast

Ulster is a real bustle of youth Rugby. From Clubs to Schools, the game is fervently played across the country. A Rugby Tour to Northern Ireland will be a tough test of your abilities, and a great place to visit as a team. Highly Recommended.

Tynedale RFC U15's toured Belfast this year via a booking with Sky High Sports. From the first contact with Richie at Sky High Sport it soon came evident that we were in for a very well planned tour with no stones left unturned. The way the company dealt with our demands was first class and they even gave a full brief of what he could provide to all the players as well as there families.

After what can be only being described as a well planned and fun filled weekend everyone one that went on the tour is still talking about it two weeks later.

We have already starting planning next years tour along with Sky High Sports. I can only say that anyone that has planned their own tour in the past knows how much work is involved and working with a company as good as Sky High Sports only made our experience more pleasurable and we all send our thanks to them and look forward to next years tour.

So if you ever want to do a sports tour to any destination we all would all highly recommend Richie and the Sky High Sports Team to make your trip one to be remembered.

It is hard to praise you for all your hard work but I will ensure that everyone that I know in all sports get to know about your company and I look forward to working with you again.

"We contacted Sky High Sports as they were a local company with a growing reputation. We tour every year in the UK, but wanted to try Ireland. The team at Sky High Sports were excellent throughout, no task was too much and the information we had prior to our tour ensured we were never short of assistance or ideas. The Hotel, the fixtures and arrangements were all superb. See you next year!"
