Lido di Jesolo is a superb beach resort near Venice in North-East Italy. With it's roots as a Roman settlement, it is only in the last century that the seaside resort has been developed, becoming one of the best beach towns in Italy.

Jesolo is somewhat of a party town. However, it is nothing like the beach resorts of Spain or Ibiza - it is not a 'Brit's Abroad' sort of place. However, for a more tranquil and youth friendly destination, then consider Sottomarina de Chioggia, which is located a little further down the coastline.
