Located on the North East Spanish Coastline, the Catalonian city of Barcelona is one of the true treasures of Southern Europe. Home to some of the world's most iconic architecture, the city offers the tourist plenty in sightseeing and photo opportunities.

There is a huge amount on offer in Barcelona to keep your entire group entertained. From Gaudi's stunning Sagrada Familia cathedral to the footballing cathedral that is the Nou Camp, there really is something for everybody.

By day, the city is a bustle of workers and tourists going about their respective ways. One of the best ways to see the highlights of Barcelona is by an open top bus. The cities finer points are spread around, so to see them all, you'll need a ride. A short trip to the south eastern reaches of the city will take you to the beach.

Like many city side coastlines, they fill up to breaking point during the warm weekend days. Volleyball, Football, Sun Bathing and Watersports are the order of the day.

By night, it is harder to look beyond the world-renowned party street that is Las Ramblas. The mile-long promenade leading to the port is a myriad of music cafe's, bars, restaurants, street entertainers and souvenir shops. The music bellows out onto the street creating a true Latin party atmosphert.

Highly recommended is a trip to the Port Aventura theme park, which truly has something for everyone. Unless you want to stay in a suburbian Hostel, a Tour to Barcelona itself would be very costly. However, there are ways to make a trip to the Catalan giant possible. The area is served by three Airports which offers great flexibility to visiting teams.

Lloret de Mar is a lively and fun beach resort near Barcelona. It is the choice of many slickers from the city in the summer months, and is hugely popular with newly graduated Spanish and Portuguese students. With numerous Hotels around, prices are extremely competitave, and with most of the worthy sporting opponents located near Barcelona itself, a full day trip to take in the delights of the city will be certainly worth it.

Lloret de Mar has been popular with touring groups of all ages. With enough activity to please youth groups and ample night life to please the more senior groups, it is an ideal base to make your Spanish Tour a worthy option.

Football in Spain is a way of life. FC Barcelona and Espanyol FC are the cities teams, and both compete - at differing levels of success - in the La Liga Championship. Rugby in Spain is still developing. The National side tend to slide between the second and third tiers of European Rugby with great success coming in the form of a victory over nearby rivals Portugal or the ever-strengthening teams from Eastern Europe such as Georgia, Romania and Russia. The club game is also developing quickly. Fixtures in Barcelona will be played at some excellent venues, with grass pitches and third generation rubber pitches also in the offering.
