A good turnout of 18 teams took part in the Wooden Spoon Northumberland golf day at the picturesque course at Matfen Hall Hotel Golf Club on 19th May.

A work social the evening before put the team in a sorry state to take on the challenging 18 hole course in the Northumberland countryside.

Richie started the day by hitting the pin, Jamie & Dav just short of the green and Harry five yards to the left of his Tee. A long day ahead for all..

Early enthusiasm and team morale quickly turned to frustration and mind games as the team jostled for authority on the course.

By hole 15 the team had hit ‘the wall’, resulting in certain members to retire to the bar whilst remaining players saw out the final holes.

All in all, the team looked the part in their matching golf jumpers, although, nothing to shout about in the field of play.

Thank you to Matfen Hall, Alan Old & The Wooden Spoon foundation for a thoroughly enjoyable day, raising a total £6000 for fantastic causes.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
