6 Nations - Focus on: Scotland
posted on 03 February 2012
The best Rugby Tournament in the World is starting this
weekend, and all of us here at Sky High Sports
cannot wait! It is of course the 6 Nations!
Over the next few weeks, I want to tell you a little more
about this fantastic tournament, the countries who compete, and
more importantly, what your team at can experience when you come
over on tour with Sky High Sports!
Our country of choice this week is Scotland. On Saturday, the
Scottish team host a new-look English squad at Murrayfield. After a
close defeat in the World Cup last fall, the Scottish boys are
fired up for a big win against an English team who don't always
play well at the magnificent Murrayfield stadium.
However, being a proud White Rose man, I'm predicting a
victory for England by 10 points!
Scotland is a wonderful country to visit.
Why not start your 2013 tour off in Edinburgh in the
spring. You should include tickets to the Scotland Vs Wales match
on 9th March as a superb starting point. Then, prepare
for your own tour fixtures a training session with current Celtic
League top-try scorer, Tim
Visser. The 'Flying Dutchman' is part of our team here at Sky
High Sports and is a superb coach as well as a player.
During your time in the capital, you can play a fixture
in Melrose, the
original home of Rugby Sevens or maybe enjoy a day dressed in a
Kilt, competing against your team mates in your very own Highland
Games - one of the best days out we arrange in the whole of
Europe!
From Edinburgh, we will head to St Andrews - the city of Golf
and Will & Kate. A visit to the Golf Course is a must. Start
with Fish 'n' Chips at the famous Jigger Inn, a walk of the Old
Course, photos on the Erskine Bridge, a visit to the Royal and
Ancient and Afternoon Teas at the 5* Old Course Hotel makes for a
super day out. Will & Kate spotting in the town is also an
opportunity!
After St Andrews, we'll head cross country through the Glens
and Lochs of the Highlands to Oban, a stunning Fishing Village on
the West Coast. Action packed days in the rugged countryside can be
mixed with evenings at the Whiskey Distillery and local pubs
chatting with locals, trying your very best to understand a word
that is being said!
The opportunity to stay in a genuine Highland Castle, visit
the famous Battlegrounds of Stirling and grab some awesome Facebook
profile photos in Edinburgh are all part of our tour options
here.
We have excellent relationships with the Women's section at
the Scottish Rugby Union. They have recently started a national U20
squad and are looking to play games against touring teams. The
standard of Women's Rugby here is slightly lower than in North
America, so for a lot of College and Club teams, this is a
possibility.
How would that sound? We're going on tour to Scotland, and we
are playing against…Scotland!
Next week, I'll be telling you a little more about what you
can expect from a visit to Ireland.
