The Number #1 Rugby Tour Destination

why Parma is the best rugby destination known to mankind

Parma is the beating heart of our immense Italian Rugby Experiences & it will come as no surprise that this is our number #1 rugby destination for 2020.

Located an hour south of Milan’s Airports, the city of Parma is central to an Italian Rugby Heartland and famed for the best of Italy’s culinary offering. Parma is an off-the-track secret. With so many incredible cities in Italy, there are some which don’t make the tourist-bibles which would be front page news in other countries & Parma is one of them.

With the help of Italian Rugby Legends Carlo Del Fava and Marco Bortolami we were able to kick-start our Italian offering & over the past decade we have worked tirelessly to perfect our magnificent Rugby Experience in the region. Whether it be a coaching clinic with Marco's former team-mates from Zebre, a Q&A over Breakfast or tickets to a match in the Guinness Pro-14. Combine this with some games of your own, and you have a serious Rugby Tour on your hands. The opposition in the region is strong. The Italian Youth structure is at a level now comparable to anywhere else in the Six Nations, so if you’re a strong team looking for a test, or a junior team looking for comparable opposition, there is something for both. One thing is the same throughout though, the Terzo Tempo, or the after match ‘third-half,’ is always excellent.

Our tours are based around one of two ideal city-centre Hotels & the incredible hosts at Amatori Rugby Parma. Elsewhere on the tour, you’ll eat at our two favourite restaurants in the city. Trattoria Corrieri is an old-school Italian Family Restaurant serving the best the region has to offer with Prosciutto di Parma & Parmigiano Reggiano naturally playing a central role! ‘La Meta,’ Italian for ‘Try,’ is a rugby-themed Argentinean Steakhouse ran by two ex-Pro players who know how to feed a hungry squad. Italians and Motorsports go hand in hand. What better way to get the juices flowing than by visiting the home of Ferrari at Maranello before returning to Parma for your very own Go Kart Grand Prix?

We witnessed some epic tours to the region in the 2018/19 season. Most notably, Stirling County RFC & Gateshead RFC Colts who toured to Parma in April this year and reported magnificent results.

“On behalf of the everyone on the tour we would like to pass on our thanks for a great tour.

Everyone is on a real high from touring and they are all talking about how fantastic the whole tour was, both lads and Dads. The host clubs couldn't have been more hospitable and the matches we played were really competitive.

The first tour that you organised for us was Holland 2017- we all still talk about that tour with very fond memories and I'm sure that the Parma tour will be talked about for years to come.”

Neil Walker | Gateshead RFC Colts | Head Coach

It always creates a huge excitement in the office when we hear teams interested in touring to Parma. Our itineraries are evolving year on year as we continue to progress the off-field schedule and perfect the rugby experience on offer in this magnificent City.

Top Tip - Take note of the weekend of the 27th March, where Zebre will take on Connacht Rugby in the Guinness Pro-14 in Parma. A great event to build a memorable tour around.
