Welcome Hamish Watson

Ahead of the 2020/2021 season, Hamish Watson, one of Scotland’s finest Internationals, has joined the Sky High Sports team as brand ambassador.

The Edinburgh and Scotland openside Flanker, who was one of the leading performers in this years’ Six Nations Championship, formerly joins the Rugby Tour Specialists & will bring with him a wealth of knowledge of Scottish Rugby and provide touring teams with some unforgettable experiences.

Hamish has worked with Sky High Sports since 2017, providing guest coaching clinics, leading Warm-Up’s for teams ahead of tour fixtures and providing Q&A’s to touring teams in Edinburgh.

“We’re thrilled to welcome one of the leading names in European Rugby to our team,” enthused Sky High Sports director Richie Gledson. “We’ve had the pleasure of working with Hamish for a few years & the experiences we’ve been able to provide to touring teams in Scotland have been without compare.”

Hamish, who has 32 caps for Scotland, first appeared on a Sky High Sports Tour back in 2017 when Cal Poly University from San Luis Obispo touched down in Edinburgh. Hamish, along with then Edinburgh Scrum-Half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, put the tourists through their paces at Oriam, the incredible High-Performance facility which hosts the Scottish Rugby Union & Football Associations.

“I’ve seen many guest coaching sessions over the years,” said Gledson, “The way Hamish and Sam threw themselves into this was so impressive. It makes all the difference when the session is enjoyed as much by the coaches as it is the players. What an opportunity for a young back-row forward to have an hour of Hamish’s time to work on the breakdown & tackling. There aren’t many better exponents of this in World Rugby at the moment.”

If you have Edinburgh on your radar for your tour plans in 2021, then expect to catch up with Hamish and his team mates at Edinburgh during the trip, whether this be at Oriam or the historic Edinburgh Academicals club, or even at your Accommodation. What better way to set the tone ahead of your international tour match than get a pep-talk from one of Scotland’s premier players?
