Lisbon

The Westernmost Capital City in Europe offers slick city living, coastal retreats, adrenaline adventure & some great rugby opportunities for your next tour.

Rugby Tours To Lisbon

On a Tour with Sky High Sports to Lisbon, you can be based along the coast in Cascais, a lively beach resort & harbour town or, in the heart of the bohemian capital of Portugal itself.

Lisbon is a small, yet charming city. The city sits on rolling hills, covered with crumbling terracotta topped buildings atop the labyrinth streets of Alfama and Bairro Alto, to incredible quarters of the city. Cascais is the resort where Lisboetas go to relax & party in the Summer. Numerous small beaches are surrounded by the typical beach resort scenes of restaurants, bars and attractions.

Since Portugal competed at RWC2007, unfortuntely, the game at the top level has dropped. It is not all doom and gloom. The game at Youth Level, championed by the excellent annual Easter Rugby Festival is as strong as ever & will hopefully lead to a change in fortune at the top.

Key Information

The Rugby

Rugby in Portugal has sadly hit a bit of a decline. Os Lobos have declined on the international scene since their appearance at the 2007 World Cup. They have dropped out of European Rugby's second tier & have lost their place on the IRB Sevens Circuit. It is not all doom and gloom. The game at Youth Level, championed by the excellent annual Easter Rugby Festival is as strong as ever & will hopefully lead to a change in fortune at the top.

Train

Renfe, the Spanish Rail Network, provides an outstanding Fast-Train service, which makes traversing the country very easy and relatively affordable.

Combining Lisbon with Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga or Seville as a multi-stop tour is made easy by travelling great distances in short times courtesy of the AVE Train.

Air

Lisbon Airport is a major International Terminal with connections across Europe & the World.

The Portugal Easter Rugby Festival

One of the Top Youth Rugby Festivals in Europe takes place every Easter in Lisbon. A superb & established event with entrants as notable as our friends down at Bath Rugby.
